all things shiny
consistent with my ultra-geek leanings, i find it strangely therapeutic (well, not so strange for me) to engage in a little customization from time to time. i’m a huge fan of prettifying things and since i spend most of my day in front of the laptop i prefer to keep my desktop sleek and shiny. my laptop’s set to change the wallpaper everyday so i like to keep things fresh and most important, minimalistic.
most people use deviantart to pick out stuff for their laptops (icons, wallpapers etc) but recently i find that i prefer to use photos as wallpaper because i think they’re more interesting. it’s a chore to sieve through flickr to pick out the creme de la creme, but can be very rewarding as well. but i’ve recently stumbled upon the holy grail of photos as desktop wallpapers. i believe he’s a one man operation but he takes lovely photos that translate very well into wallpapers with muted, soothing colours. i downloaded tons of his photos in one shot – they are very very well-taken (in my limited experience) and here’re some of my favourite sets from him, mostly taken in europe.
